The Department of Electrical Engineering offers one international bachelor's degree program, three international master's degree programs, and two international Ph.D.'s degree programs. Each program features its characteristic courses and explores distinct research themes in electrical engineering. Applicants to these programs can check the courses for detailed information.

Things you have to know before application

International Applicants Only

The qualification of international students is subject to the regulation by the Taiwan Ministry of Education, the article of international students undertaking studies in Taiwan. The regulation on applicants who have dual nationality or annulled R.O.C nationality are specified in Article 2. Please check before applying.

Important Dates

In NSYSU, each academic year consists of two semesters, Fall semester (September to January) and Spring semester (February to June).
【Fall 2024/Spring 2025 Admission】

Fall Admission

※ Application submission period: January 15th ~ March 15th, 2024.
※ Admission announcement: Before June 5th, 2024.
※ Semester begins in mid-September 2024 for all admitted applicants.

Spring Admission

※ Application submission period: August 1st ~ September 30th, 2024.
※ Admission announcement: Before December 10th, 2024.
※ Semester begins in mid-February 2025 for all admitted applicants.

Online Application System

Applicants can apply for admission through the NSYSU online application system. Using an e-mail address to register, applicants can access to the application forms and have to upload all required material before the deadline.

Bachelor's Program (Department of Electrical Engineering)

【Fall 2024/Spring 2025 Admission】

Language of instruction: EMI program (English-taught)
Language Proficiency: Minimum English proficiency for non-native English speaking applicants: TOEFL score iBT-TOEFL of 61 / IELTS of 5.0.

All the following documents should be submitted to the Office of International Affairs, NSYSU before the deadline：

(1) Study Plan (with research proposal) in English.
(2) Autobiography.

Language of instruction: Program taught in English.
Language Proficiency: Minimum English proficiency for non-native English speaking applicants: TOEFL score iBT-TOEFL of 61 / IELTS of 5.0.

All the following documents should be submitted to the Office of International Affairs, NSYSU before the deadline：

(1) Two recommendation letters.
(2) Study Plan (including research plan) in English.
(3) Doctoral program applicants must submit the Master's Thesis; draft or equivalent works are acceptable if masters' thesis is not available.

Language of instruction: Program taught in English.
Language Proficiency: Minimum English proficiency for non-native English speaking applicants: TOEFL score iBT-TOEFL of 61 / IELTS of 5.0.
Besides owning the application qualification, foreign students must meet with the following regulations: Open to all graduates of Science, Engineering and/or related programs.

(3) Research output, thesis, publication, or any material that can further support application.

Language Proficiency：Minimum English proficiency for non-native English speaking applicants: TOEFL score iBT-TOEFL of 61 / IELTS of 5.0.

All the following documents should be submitted to the Office of International Affairs, NSYSU before the deadline：

(1) Two recommendation letters.
(2) Study plan (including research proposal) in Chinese or English.
(3) Autobiography (in Chinese or English).
(4) Master's Thesis; draft or equivalent works are acceptable if master's thesis is not available.
