Led by professor Tzyy-Sheng Horng in the RF & Microwave Laboratory, a research team developed a portable microwave Doppler radar which was acquired by Vitalmetric LLC, in Florida, USA. These two parties signed a technical transfer, with a license fee of 2 million USD and an annual royalty of 3% global sales revenue.     

"This miniature radar can precisely monitor the health condition of livestock, monitoring their pulse and respiration to identify any unhealthy animals without physical contact," said Prof. Horng, an IEEE fellow and the leader of the RF & Microwave Laboratory.
