Our department of electrical engineering provides with three international master's degree programs, including electrical engineering, electric power engineering, and telecommunication engineering. Each program features its characteristic courses and explores different research themes in electrical engineering. Applicants to these programs can check the graduate courses for detail information.

Things you have to know before application

  • International applicants only

To be considered for admission to the international EE graduate programs, international applicants must have foreign nationality and earn a bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering and related subjects at universities/colleges approved by the Taiwan Ministry of Education. The qualification of international students is subject to the regulation by the Taiwan Ministry of Education, the article of international students undertaking studies in Taiwan.The regulation on applicants who have dual nationality or annulled R.O.C nationality are specified in Article 2. Please check before applying.   

  • Deadline:

In Sun Yat-sen University, each academic year consists of two terms, fall term (September to January) and spring term (February to June). Most students enroll in fall terms. Application to fall term admission is accepted from 1 January to 31 March, and the spring application is from 1 August to 30 September. The admission brochure will be announced 20 days prior the application starts.  

  • On-line application system

Applicants to the international EE graduate programs should apply using the NSYSU on-line application system. Using an e-mail address to register, applicants can access to the application forms and have to upload all required material before the deadline.

  • Language requirement:

International applicants from countries where English is not the native language and have earned their bachelor’s degree at non-English-speaking academic institutions must meet language requirement. TOEFL score iBT-TOEFL of 61 / CBT-TOEFL of 173/ Paper-based TOEFL of 500 / IELTS of 5.0. 

  • Required documents
    1.  A photocopy of Certificate of Nationality:
    a valid passport, or Alien Resident Certificate, or birth certificate.
    2. Copies of Diploma and Transcript of Record:
    (a) Two photocopies of diploma have to be authenticated by Taiwan Representative Office in the area where the university is located. Please note that applicants who are admitted to the program MUST provide a diploma verified by the Taiwan Representative Office, when registering at the university. If the original copy is in languages other than English/Chinese, two photocopies translated into English/Chinese are required.
    (b) Two original copies of transcript of record have to be authenticated by Taiwan Representative Office in the area where the university is located and be stamped and sealed by the university. If the original copy is in languages other than English/Chinese, two copies translated into English/Chinese are required.
    3. One copy of medical certificate signed by a certified medical practitioner conducted within 6 months from the application date.
    4. Two letters of recommendation, sealed and signed
    5. Study Plan
    6. Optional: Research output, thesis, publication or any material that can further support application.

NSYSU academic year consists of two semesters (Fall & Spring).
